About this course

PP/DS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling) is the advanced planning engine built into SAP S/4HANA. Manufacturers use it where classic MRP is not enough: plans that respect real capacity, a detailed sequence for every resource and delivery dates customers can rely on. Companies moving to S/4HANA need consultants and planners who can set it up and use it.

This 50-hour course is organised in five units. You start with SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing and where PP/DS sits in supply chain planning, then review the master data advanced planning needs and learn to work with the alert monitor. Program planning comes next: the product view, the principles and tools of demand planning, and the planning strategies for make-to-order and make-to-stock, including how strategies and requirement classes are determined.

The last two units are the core of PP/DS. You set up the prerequisites and basic settings, follow the technical steps of a planning run and apply it, connect the plan to shop floor control and look at further production planning topics. Then you move to detailed scheduling: its concepts and principles, the detailed scheduling planning board and supply creation-based confirmation (SBC). Every topic is shown live in an SAP S/4HANA system, and every session is recorded.
