About this course
Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) is the SAP S/4HANA module that runs a warehouse: receiving and putaway, picking, packing and shipping, physical inventory, replenishment, yard and labour, with radio frequency devices on the floor. Classic Warehouse Management (WM) is leaving SAP, so every company moving to S/4HANA needs EWM, and EWM consultants are among the scarcest and best-paid logistics profiles in the SAP market.
The course starts with S/4HANA itself (SAP GUI and Fiori, the SAP Activate methodology), the difference between embedded and decentralised EWM and between classic WM and EWM, and the warehouse structure: warehouse numbers, storage types, sections, bins, activity areas, work centers, doors and staging areas. You then build the master data (warehouse product, packaging specifications, resources, Business Partners) and the integration with the ERP delivery documents, and run the inbound process (goods receipt, putaway strategies, handling units, deconsolidation, quality inspection, cross-docking) and the outbound process (picking with stock removal strategies, wave management, packing and kitting, staging, loading and goods issue).
You then configure the warehouse process types, process- and layout-oriented storage control, warehouse order creation rules, queues and resources, run the internal processes (physical inventory, replenishment, ad hoc movements, posting changes), and work with shipping and receiving, yard management, the warehouse monitor, the RF framework and the Fiori apps for warehouse clerks. The course ends with the EWM integration with MM, SD, PP, QM and TM, the migration from WM to EWM, a full case study and preparation for the SAP Certified Associate exam in Extended Warehouse Management. Every topic is shown live in an SAP S/4HANA system, and every session is recorded.
