About this course

SAP HANA is the in-memory database under SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere and SAP BTP, and SAP HANA Cloud is its cloud edition. HANA developers model the calculation views that analytics and apps read, write SQL and SQLScript that runs where the data is, and HANA administrators keep the database fast, backed up and secure. Every S/4HANA customer and every BTP project needs these skills, and they pair with ABAP, BASIS, SAC and BTP careers.

The course starts with the HANA architecture (column store, index server, persistence, multitenant databases), HANA Cloud provisioning and the tools (HANA cockpit, Database Explorer, Business Application Studio), then teaches SQL on HANA from basics to window functions and SQLScript procedures and functions with performance analysis. You then model with calculation views in Business Application Studio: dimensions, cubes and star joins, joins, unions, aggregations, calculated and restricted columns, input parameters, hierarchies, currency conversion, analytic privileges and performance, consumed in SAC, Fiori and OData.

You then develop with HDI containers (tables, views, synonyms, procedures, grants, cross-container access), provision data with Smart Data Integration, Smart Data Access and SLT, administer users, privileges, auditing, encryption, backup and recovery and monitoring, and see how HANA serves S/4HANA and ABAP (code pushdown, CDS, AMDP), with the text, spatial, graph, predictive and vector engines. The course ends with a data model case study and preparation for the SAP Certified Associate exams in SAP HANA Cloud Modeling and Administration. Every topic is shown live on SAP HANA Cloud, and every session is recorded.
