About this course

SAP Fiori is the user experience of SAP S/4HANA and every SAP cloud product, and SAPUI5 is the framework its apps are built with. Every S/4HANA project needs Fiori developers who can build and extend apps, and the clean-core rule has moved custom screens from SAP GUI to Fiori: on the ABAP stack with RAP and on SAP BTP with CAP.

The course starts with Fiori design principles, floorplans and the Fiori launchpad, and the web fundamentals a UI5 developer needs (HTML, CSS, modern JavaScript, REST and OData). You then build apps with SAPUI5 from the ground up: the component and descriptor, XML views and controllers, routing and navigation, fragments and dialogs, data binding with JSON and OData models, formatters, filters and sorting, the sap.m controls, tables, forms and responsive layouts, and CRUD against OData V2 and V4 services from SAP Gateway and RAP.

You then build Fiori elements apps from annotations with SAP Fiori tools (List Report, Object Page, Overview Page, Analytical List Page), extend them with the flexible programming model, test with QUnit and OPA5, tune performance and accessibility, and deploy to the ABAP repository and to SAP Build Work Zone with catalogs, spaces and roles. The course ends with an end-to-end project and preparation for the SAP Certified Associate exam for the SAP Fiori Application Developer. Every topic is built live, and every session is recorded.

What you will learn

  • Apply the SAP Fiori design principles and floorplans, and work with the Fiori launchpad, catalogs, spaces and roles
  • Build SAPUI5 apps with the MVC pattern: component, manifest, XML views, controllers, routing, fragments and i18n
  • Bind data with JSON and OData models: property, aggregation and expression binding, formatters, filters and sorting
  • Use the sap.m controls, tables, forms and responsive layouts (Dynamic Page, Flexible Column Layout)
  • Read and write OData V2 and V4 services from SAP Gateway and RAP, with batch requests and a mock server
  • Generate Fiori elements apps from annotations with SAP Fiori tools and extend them with the flexible programming model
  • Test with QUnit and OPA5, debug with the UI5 Inspector and tune performance and accessibility
  • Deploy apps to the ABAP repository and SAP Build Work Zone and adapt standard apps with adaptation projects
  • Finish an end-to-end project and prepare for the SAP Certified Associate exam (C_FIORD)
