About this course

SAP BASIS is the team that keeps SAP running: installing and upgrading systems, moving changes through the landscape, managing users, roles and authorisations, monitoring performance and administering the SAP HANA database. Every SAP customer and every S/4HANA conversion project needs BASIS and Security consultants, and the move to S/4HANA on HANA before 2027 keeps that demand high.

The course starts with the SAP landscape and the architecture of the ABAP platform on SAP HANA, and installs an S/4HANA system with the Software Provisioning Manager, with the post-installation steps. You then administer clients and client copies, configure the transport management system and move transports through DEV, QAS and PRD, administer users with single sign-on and the security audit log, and build the authorisation concept with PFCG: roles, profiles, authorisation objects, SU24, derived and composite roles, authorisation traces and the Fiori role design.

You then monitor and tune the system (work processes, dumps, locks, memory, workload), run background jobs, spool and RFC, administer SAP HANA (cockpit, backup and recovery, system replication, users and performance), patch and upgrade with SPAM, SAINT and the Software Update Manager, and see high availability, SAP on the hyperscalers and RISE. The course ends with a landscape case study and preparation for the SAP Certified Associate exams in S/4HANA System Administration and Security Administration. Every topic is shown live on a real system, and every session is recorded.
