DevOps Engineering (DevOps): Linux, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and Terraform

Learn DevOps live: Linux and shell scripting, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD with GitHub Actions and Jenkins, Terraform and Ansible, AWS, monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana, and GitOps, with two end-to-end projects.

About this course

DevOps engineers build and run the pipelines and platforms that ship software every day: containers, Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and monitoring. It is one of the best-paid engineering roles and the natural next step for developers, testers and system administrators.

The course starts with Linux and shell scripting, networking basics and Git workflows, then Docker (images, Dockerfiles, Compose, registries) and Kubernetes (pods, deployments, services, ingress, config, storage, Helm, scaling and troubleshooting). You then build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Jenkins (build, test, scan, deploy), infrastructure as code with Terraform and configuration with Ansible, and run it all on AWS (EC2, EKS, ECR, IAM, networking).

You then add monitoring and logging (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, alerting), GitOps with Argo CD, security (secrets, image scanning, least privilege), cost and reliability practices, and finish two end-to-end projects (a microservices application deployed to EKS with CI/CD, and a platform built with Terraform). The course ends with interview preparation for DevOps roles. Every topic is done live, and every session is recorded.

What you will learn

  • Work in Linux: files, permissions, processes, networking and shell scripting
  • Use Git workflows: branching, pull requests, rebasing and release management
  • Build and run containers with Docker, Dockerfiles, Compose and registries
  • Run applications on Kubernetes: pods, deployments, services, ingress, config, storage, Helm and scaling
  • Build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Jenkins
  • Provision infrastructure with Terraform and configure servers with Ansible
  • Run workloads on AWS: EC2, EKS, ECR, IAM and networking
  • Monitor and log with Prometheus, Grafana and Loki, and practise GitOps with Argo CD
  • Secure the pipeline and the platform, and finish two end-to-end projects

Requirements

  • Basic programming or scripting and comfort with the command line; the Linux basics are covered
  • Best suited to developers, testers, system administrators and cloud engineers moving to DevOps and platform roles
  • A laptop with a stable internet connection
